Update 22nd June 2024

Update FS Expo 2024

I know it’s been too long since I’ve provided an update, but it’s been near impossible, because every time I thought we had a solid path forward, things changed.

Some things might still change. But an overview of where we stand is overdue, and so I will provide an update on what we’re currently doing to find a solution to fulfill our obligations to our customers and the future of Honeycomb.

Through this letter, I’ll try to address the main questions that people have been asking me:

  • When will people receive replacements for faulty Honeycomb units they have returned?
  • What is happening to the pre-order Charlie Rudder Pedals that people have paid for?
  • What is going to happen to Honeycomb and who will manage the company moving forward?

Replacement Units:

I’ve been trying to find a solution to replace approximately 110 faulty units that were sent out to customers and have been returned. Despite multiple attempts, I’ve not been able to get my former business partner to fulfill their outstanding obligation to replace these defective units. For now, I’ve given up on that path.

As an alternative, I have finally been able to get my hands on replacement products and I have been given July 15 as the date when I can start shipping replacement units out to impacted customers.  My plan is that all replacement units will be shipped out before the end of July. Our tech support team will be sending a tracking number to all customers who are waiting to get a replacement unit as soon as the unit is on the way.

Charlie Pre-orders

Both my former partner and I are currently in production (at separate factories) of the first batch of Charlie Rudder Pedals. They have announced that pre-ordered units will be shipped at the end of June, and my hope is that they will keep their promise. If that doesn’t happen, then we will be sending an email to everyone who pre-ordered Charlie Rudder Pedals with an alternative solution.

Management of Honeycomb:

Nothing is set in stone yet, but we’re finally making headway. After months of trying to find a new partner to buy out my former partner’s interest in Honeycomb, I realized that it wasn’t a task I was able to handle by myself. I have now engaged capable business and legal advisors who are helping me move forward. They have been working on my behalf to negotiate a solution that doesn’t require litigation and they have done an excellent job. We have met almost all of my former partner’s demands. I believe that we are in the home stretch and will come to an agreement soon on the terms by which I will regain ownership and management of the full Honeycomb business. I hope to be able to make a definitive announcement on this soon, but I’m not counting my chickens yet.

FS Expo

I will be at the FS Expo and encourage anyone who sees me to come talk to me and ask me any question they like. For those who are not attending, we will be doing an AMA in the coming weeks, so everyone else will have the chance to do the same.

If you want to support our effort, then you can order the Charlie Rudder Pedals on www.honeycombsim.com.  We have the first production units ready to ship but will also bring ten units to FS Expo which I will personally hand deliver at the show. We have set the orders up, so that no one will be charged until shipping has been confirmed and a tracking number is issued.

The second production run will be ready at the end of July and will be made available for purchase once the factory has confirmed the shipping date to us.

I deeply appreciate the incredible support that I and my team have received from the community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has kept our spirits high when things looked bleak. We have also read the comments from people who have been critical and have taken that to heart.

The only thing we can do right now is to look ahead, learn from the past and stay optimistic about the future. We cannot wait to share the plans that we have been working on with everyone.

See you at FS Expo,

Nicki
